Hello,

I'm new to SUSE as I had been using Mandrake off and on for a little bit but eventually switched back to windows.. this time I just decided to make a dual boot and it's turning out to be pretty cool.

But I have some "noobish" questions. (I think)

1) I'm wondering why the transparent box that is used to highlight items is so choppy when I drag it across my screen. It's not just that either, it's screen savers and games as well.

and 2) I can't seem to get any music to play.. it just immediately stops after pressing play in Kaffeine and in amaorK and XMMS just doesn't work at all (and never has, no matter what distro I'm using).

I'm currently using a nvidia GeForce FX 5200 and I know I installed the drivers with YOU because I see the nvidia splash screen before it logs me in.
I'm pretty sure the sound card I'm using is a somewhat-old sound blaster audigy.. but the sound isn't my problem, I can deal with that later.. it's the music not playing at all that's getting to me.

Can anyone give me a reason as to why the highlight boxes are choppy? Maybe a solution?
