we have that sunfire v880,and storEdge L25 tab it's running in solaris 5.9 OS.we are facing the one problem in veritas,i don't no the veritas.

the problem is daily check the cleaning tape in particular time.But there clenning tape is not there.so it's daily send the error message.so we deside to remove the entry in veritas.but we don't know the where put the entry.so plz give the step by step solution. here i have attached the particular error message.

I've noticed this sitting here with 0 responses for quite some time. I can't give you the step by step for veritas. Been a while since I've used it. I'm all open source on my Solaris systems now. Amanda for backups.

You could buy a new cleaning tape and put it in.

Alternatively, if you are going to use veritas, you should have someone sent for training. Learn it. Or get a support contract and ask for help.

Or, switch to open source. Then you will be more likely to get responses and help here. Then I might comment that I prefer to handle cleaning outside of the backup software. That's drive maintenance, and most modern drives don't need cleaning that often. I've used a cleaning tape once in a year of using my AIT5 drive daily.

Your profile only says India. Big country. So, hard telling whether you are anywhere near Pune. Lot's of stuff going on there, including one of the headquarters of Zmanda. They are the commercial support company for Amanda, as well as being very active in the open source community.
