Usage of "Large-file-aware" utility in Solaris ?


Hi Friends ,

I am preparing for SUN SOlaris Certification, And in my text book it describes about 'Large-File-aware' Utility as below:


[HTML]It is a utility can handle large files as input and generate large files as output[/HTML]

But I didn't understand any thing, Please Help me in this!!

Does it want something like sed or awk? Sorry not understanding the question. When I took the Solaris test it was mostly multiple guess. Do you have the question?

"man largefile" will tell you:

"A large file is a regular file whose size is greater than or equal to 2 Gbyte ( 2^31 bytes). A small file is a regular file whose size is less than 2 Gbyte."
