Sparc2 keyboard problem

When I boot my sparc2 station up, I get this message, even if a keyboard is plugged in.

cannot open input device.
Keyboard not present. Using tty for input and and output.

Nobody knows how to fix this problem?

Have you tried any other keyboard? Either the keyboard is bad or the port its plugged into might be bad.

The keyboard isnt bad because I've used it on my other two sun stations. So if the port is bad, does that pretty much mean the system is junk?

Get out your soldering iron! If you have a shakey hand, replace the board, about $5.00 on ebay! Check the bootPROM env settings.
