What about specifying debugging mode by launching xntdp manually with the "-d" option added (multiple times if necessary) ?

Seems kind of strange to me even though my /etc/inet/ntp.conf file has the line "statsdir /var/ntp" in it, there are no logs being created. The directory is there it's just empty. I've also looked for errors in the /var/adm/messages file and nothing about ntp.

I couldn't find an example of how to use the "-d" so I'm guessing that it's something like this:

Code:
/etc/init.d/xntpd start -d

The startup script is ignoring the extra argument. Run directly the command instead, like the manual page is showing:
Code:
/usr/lib/inet/xntpd -d -d

Thanks for your patients jlliagre... After running that, it immediately showed my problem.

Code:
getconfig: couldn't open </etc/inet/ntp.conf>
So I looked at the file permissions and they are like this:

Code:
_rw_r__r__ 1 root other /etc/inet/ntp.conf
So I changed to:

Code:
_rw_r__r__ 1 root sys /etc/inet/ntp.conf
I still get the same problem. Should I open it up to 755 or something? Thanks for the help!

Thank you for all your help! The answer was in the details.... I had my ntp.conf file named ntp.config.... I'm an idiot... Anyhow... seems to be working!
