list only files and not descend

Hi,

I'm running solaris 8 and how does a person only list wildcard files? For example I want to to display only files that start with r:

'ls r*'

This will list all files but all go down if directories that start with 'r' and list the files there too which is what I don't want. Thanks..

That is not really Solaris specific, but I think you want to do:

Ahh thanks... I thought I did a 'ls r*' on my linux box and remembering that it returned to me only files beginning with 'r' but I was wrong. Hmm, my brain is still trying to recover from the holidays. Thanks Jillagre!
