Unhappy Issue with BIND not starting please HELP is it firewall related or?

When I try to start the named daemon I get these errors in the logs...it was running fine before and no recent changes in named.conf

Sep 1 15:21:09 nsX named[1318]: [ID 866145 daemon.info] loading configuration from '/usr/local/etc/named.conf'
Sep 1 15:21:09 nsX named[1318]: [ID 866145 daemon.error] /usr/local/etc/named.conf:61: unknown option 'key'
Sep 1 15:21:09 nsX named[1318]: [ID 866145 daemon.error] /usr/local/etc/named.conf:66: unknown option 'controls'
Sep 1 15:21:09 nsX named[1318]: [ID 866145 daemon.error] /usr/local/etc/named.conf:71: '}' expected near end of file
Sep 1 15:21:09 nsX named[1318]: [ID 866145 daemon.crit] loading configuration: unexpected token
Sep 1 15:21:09 nsX named[1318]: [ID 866145 daemon.crit] exiting (due to fatal error)

This is somewhat urgent to fix

thanks!

Nope. I don't believe you. What's the mod date on /usr/local/etc/named.conf and what's the last date that named was started?

Either the conf file was changed or the program that is reading it is not the version of named that you expect.

Well I have reverted back to an older named.conf before any changes so I am still getting same result not starting...there have been firewall changes though...so im thinking they might be to blame? I just want to troubleshoot all my options..

thanks

What those msgs are telling you is that you have at least one syntax error in the named.conf file.
You need to check out the lines mentioned, although the actual error may be on a different line.
