Installing Redhat On Sun Sparc v100

I have a sun Vt100 rack server in the office which I am trying to install Redhat6.2.
The server has no video card /keyboard/mouse. It has a network slot for the lom port and another for the serial port.

I can connect to the server fine with lom port and I can get it to boot from the redhat sparc cdrom. this is where I run into the problem:

I need to boot in text mode and from serial console. Here is screen

Welcome to Red Hat Linux!

o To install or upgrade a system running Red Hat Linux 4.0
or later, press the <ENTER> key.

o To enable expert mode, type: expert <ENTER>. Press <3> for
more information about expert mode.

o To install using text mode, type text <ENTER>

o Use the numeric keys listed below at the beginning of input line
for more information.

[1-Main] [2-General] [3-Expert] [4-Rescue] [5-Kickstart] [6-Kernel]
boot: text
Uncompressing image...
Loading initial ramdisk....
\
Remapping the kernel... done.
Booting Linux...

This is where is just hangs,
I thougth it was because it didnt know what the console was. So I tried

boot: text linux console=ttya
I also tried ttyS0

The same thing happened here.
Would you have any advice? or know where I could find some.

This is the documentation I am using
http://www.europe.redhat.com/documen...-en/index.php3

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Its getting pretty frustrating.
Thanks,

Peter

Is there a particular reason you are using RH6.2, I don't see anything on
their HCL about the v100 being compatible. I did however find (from RH's
hardware page) the "Aurora Sparc Linux Project" at the following address:

http://auroralinux.org/

This appears to be a RH based distro that is being maintained. They are
even touting the 2.4.19 kernel.

On the other hand, if you need RH6.2 to work, then I would try connecting
to the serial port to see if that helps.

Also is it supposed to be just "text" or is it "linux text"?
