In /etc/default/su and /etc/default/login are PATH and SUPATH: should I correct both of them or only SUPATH? In both files?

Thanks for your help jlliagre!

You do not need to correct them, are they are already correct.
If you want to customize root's PATH, you can set SUPATH on both files.

Talking a really easy way...

Hi,

My problem of changing PATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH was originated when I tried to install Intel Fortran. Anyway, the script ifortvars.sh modify the environmental variables during the present sesion. If one want to run the script automatically everytime one enter in linux you can put such script in the folder /etc/profile.d.

That solved my problem.

Hmm, /etc/profile.d is not a Solaris thing.

It's better to edit the .profile in the users' home directory, than to edit the default file.
