Just install a Solaris Express distribution that integrate Xen. The newer the better.
You also need to boot Solaris under Xen to be able to install other OSes.

Virtual Box is supporting many OSes. What are the ones you have trouble installing on it ?

1.How do i check to see if my solaris comes with xen alredy?
Is it the option that i see during the boot time, as xvm????
2 & 3. As i mentioned earlier am using b83 ....
The older versions of vbox ,ie 1.5.x dont work as the kernel modules cannot be loaded...there is a version mismatch between the older vbox and my new solaris build....
(i am not sure about the exact error i get during installation, but its something like what ive mentioned)
next, the new 1.6 has some terrible faults....
even though i have allocated 1G of ram for it,(am running a flavor of opensolaris, doing some development stuff on it)
The vbox runs out of memory....meaning the machine is suspended and it say due to RAM constraints ...
But this never happened with the 1.5.x releases...
Also there have been time of kernel panic as well...
Hence i want to use xen

Build 83 has Xen integrated. First integration was on build 75.
I'm running Build83 on an AMD64 single core 1.8 Ghz with 3 GB of RAM. I had no problem installing and running the first Solaris Virtual Box release 1.5.5. I updated it to 1.6.0 and it still run without any of the issues you are describing.
I have installed XP Pro, Ubuntu Feisty Fawn and Hardy Heron, Nexenta, Solaris 10u4 and u5, several Solaris Express up to build 90, Schillix, Milax, Minix, OpenSolaris preview and 2008.05 and Nexenta without a glitch.
There was a new release of VirtualBox two days ago (1.6.2), you may want to try that one.
Hi,
So finally i did give the newer 1.6.2 a try, and bad news..
the drivers are not being attached properly...
I am unable to use it...
this is what i get
## Executing postinstall script.
Configuring VirtualBox kernel module...
devfsadm: driver failed to attach: vboxdrv
Warning: Driver (vboxdrv) successfully added to system but failed to attach
Aborting due to attach failure.
Creating links...
devfsadm: driver failed to attach: vboxdrv
Done.
Installation of <SUNWvbox> was successful. ;(
I really dont know what the issue is and i badly need vbox on solaris.
Secondly i tried logging into the xvm at boot time..
but once i pass the grub menu into the boot screen,A lot of lines scroll off fast and i can make out nothing from it..
It then reboots...
Is there some sort of configuration that needs to be done before i use xvm?
yes that is what i did!!!
Is there some sort of procedure to install the new vbox ?
meaning should i install the kernel part first then do something?or how is it!
perhaps the title of the post and the posts within must be confusing to all of you..
I am sorry for this...
Here is the entire story, once again!
I am using solaris b83 as host on which i intend to install vbox.
but the 1.6.x versions of it (both 64/32) are not installing.
I get the error, that i have already posted.
I dont want to use xen ,but the whole point of me not having vbox made me give it a thought, that's all!!!
if anyone can help me with setting up vbox, that's all i want!
