How to get correct block devices for multi-partition GPT-formatted disk?

The disk /dev/dsk/c5t2d0 has 12 partitions as I can check in parted.

And there are 5 /dev/dsk/c5t2d0p* devices (c5t2d0p[0-4])

And there are 15 slice devices /dev/dsk/c5t2d0s* devices (c5t2d0s0 to c5t2d0s15)

How can I easily get a correct device for any of 12 partitions?

In Linux, I just get 12 partitions mapped to 12 human-understandable paths like /dev/disk/by-id/ata-TOSHIBA*-part1 to /dev/disk/by-id/ata-TOSHIBA*-part12

Do you know why you have 12 partitions?

What are the disk and the partitions size?

Assuming the disk is not shared with a different OS, Solaris and derivatives prefer a single partition encompassing the whole disk as there is no much point in using multiple partitions with ZFS.
