Free Solaris 10 8/07 istallation

I downloaded the Free Solaris 10 8/07 in two zip files (1.2 GB each). I did the MD 5 Checksum and was fine. When I unzipped the file the resulting file had no extention ie iso or zip or whatever. I renamed the file and gave it an ISO extention and burned the ISO to DVD. On booting from the Solaris DVD it takes me to a console with various options once you press TAB.I typed INSTALL and came up with some error message!!! What now?????? Does anybody have an idea how to proceed from here??????

If you use a system with the file command, you can try and see which type a file is, there's no need of "extensions" for that, even if they're an useful reminder.

Maybe if you'd detail the error messages... we could give some help.

The last time that I downloaded the files, I had to extract them AND concatenate them together. That creates the actual image to install. Did you look at the instructions on how to create the image properly? The individual files were useless on their own, they had to be "glued" together if you will (I think it was the cat command and redirect both images to a single image.

Check out the instructions again.
