Hi Everyone. Lookin for help in such situation:

I heve OI installed (2020) with Qlogic FC card (target mode). qlt 2523. Works fine.

1. i tried to upgrade OI but during update, and during start I see nvidia_modeset unload .. and upgrade fails.

2. I decided to instal OI 2023 (same server/hardware) ... and after many tries - FC card word default i qlc (initiator) mode, ane after setting to TARGET mode (update_drv -a -i 'pciex1077,2532' qlt) is still offline. Cant bring it online. I see that (i thik) in target mode firmware/driver is not being loaded (hba -conf shows Firmware 0.0.0.0 when in older Oi shows 5,.2.1).

Anyone had this problem? Thanks in advance for help.

I would estimate that the intersection of the set of OI users and the set of QLogic FC target mode users has approximately one member.


My guess is that no changes have been made as there isn't much active development in this area, but there is likely no testing going on either. So I'm guessing some simple bug in the build.

Turn up kernel logging and capture a trace of the failed initialization. I have a fair amount of target mode experience on Linux and will take a look.
