Talking Dual Boot Windows 10 and Open Indiana 2019

I am using laptop to dual boot windows 10 and solaris (11.4). After installing, windows was visible so no problem.

When I install Open Indiana, windows is not visible. I do not have the savvy to fix it right now. I prefer OI over 11.4 to dual boot Windows. I dont have the knowledge yet for editing grub - using chain, etc. Ideas please. Thank you.

I browsed over to the openindiana web site and read some of the install documents. This paragraph cought my eye:
Quote:
Deciding where to install OpenIndiana
By default the OpenIndiana installer creates an EFI partition using a GPT partition table. Using this option, OpenIndiana will use the entire disk. No other operating system can share the same disk.

Optionally you may use a legacy MBR partition. MBR partitions will allow you to create multiple partitions. MBR will also support dual booting another operating system.

Another option is to install to a virtual machine.
My thought at this point is that you may have totally overwritten your windows install with openindiana! If this is the case,, windows no longer exists on your drive. Did you, as the documentation recommends, make a backup first?

Thanks for the reply. I figured out that Windows was gone. I ended up going a different route. Popped in 2nd HD and gave OpenIndiana it's own home. I've got Solaris 11.4 and Windows 10 sharing the other drive.
