Connect to Vmware guest solaris remotely

Hi Admins,

I am trying to connect to vmware workstation guest solaris 10 machine remotely.

I have tried putty, Remote desktop...

I did the following:

vmware setting: display enabled: used ports 3389/5901/8000.

then on RDesktop:IP address

ort no

but says can't connect to remote computer...

I am using 2 laptops....vmware is on 1 laptop and trying to connect to it through other laptop.

Which ip are you trying to connect? It has to be the hosts ip, not the guest.

Actually I tried both way.

But not working.....is there any port issue..please explain..

I have never used VMware Workstation but with Virtualbox there is a setting in the vm where you can allow rdp-connections to the vm. It is not set by default though. Judgeing from your signature you use windows as a host. Maybe you need to open some ports in the wiondows firewall?
