Video Acceleration?

I'm just wondering if video acceleration is up to scratch.

I have a RazPi 4 with one 1920x1080 monitor, and am not trying for more. Recently, I've been noticing that in situations where the screen has t be redrawn ( skip on video, rapid change of screen) there's a 2-3 second period where the outline is sort of there, but the screen hasn't been redrawn, and it gradually gets filled in in sections over 2-3 seconds. Now I know it's a RazPi 4, and I'm not expecting much. Is that normal for a Pi, or have I an issue?

Thanks for that.

The overlay did it - I haven't even checked the video memory but I did set vlc as per the guide, and I couldn't catch it out in context switching.
