Slackware 13 on Toshiba Tecra 740CDT
Hello,
This is my first post here so be kind.... I managed to install Slackware 13 on my laptop but when I try to start the X server ( startx ) from the console, all I got is a black screen. I tried also to do an automatic detect of the hardware by issuing the command X -configure, that generates a xorg.config.new in the root directory and then I tried to restart xserver with the same black screen.
I used to have version 10 or 11 on that laptop and it did work. I think there was a command that I type at the console that ask me which hardware I have and select from the menu different video card but I can't remember what was the command. Can anyone help me with this issue please ?
By the way, my video card is a Chips and Technologies CT 65554
And another question for you pros, I would like to change the logo (tuz) wich I hate and install instead the previous logo (tux) in the lefthand corner. What's the name of the file and where it is located ?
I have tried to search for these info but couldn't find anything for fixing my problem
Thank you to anyone reply to my request ...
