This is just Slackware ARM 15.0 Beta - Slackware AArch64 development is still ongoing.

Get the Beta from here: https://slackware.uk/slackwarearm/slackwarearm-current/

Read the ChangeLog for details (etc.) - https://slackware.uk/slackwarearm/sl.../ChangeLog.txt

Haha! I've been busy all morning, don't worry. If all goes well (which it is going amazingly well indeed - as is expected) hopefully I won't be busy for much longer before I upload the new SARPi batches. Then it'll be your turn to get busy.

Slackware ARM -current (the new 15.0 beta) installers for the Raspberry Pi 2, 3, and 4 have been uploaded to the SARPi website: https://sarpi.penthux.net/index.php?p=downloads

I've done a lot of testing with the system (which went very smoothly with one exception), but none whatsoever on a desktop. So, if there are any issues that you encounter within a desktop environment please let me know the details.

The one issue that occurred during testing was with rebooting the system immediately after Slackware ARM was installed on the RPis. This is already a well known niggle, pretty much exclusive to the RPi devices as far as I am aware, and only apparent after the OS has initially been installed. So, just to clarify and offer a viable alternative for rebooting at the end of the Slackware ARM 'setup' installation process:
  • Using 'reboot' command doesn't work as expected.
  • Using 'reboot -f' does work eventually, after a minute or so.
  • Using 'echo b > /proc/sysrq-trigger' to reboot the system works instantly - this is how I usually do it.

On all subsequent (re)boots of the Slackware ARM system the 'reboot' command works 100% as expected on the RPis.

Release: Slackware ARM 15.0 beta

Shouldn't the version information in /etc updated to 15 like x86_64 release?
