Uniform CD-ROM driver Revision : 3.20

I have just re-compiled from 2.4.29 (default kernel of slackware 10) to 2.67 included in the second cd and i received the above error. The boot process freezes. It might be a kernel setting that i haven't pay attention.

Help would be very appreciated
Thank You
