Ugly GTK, which package to install to make GTK programs look nice?
As I'm primarily a Windows user, I'm not normally bothered by looks emulating a Win98/Win2000/ReactOS feel. For example, I find the oldschool menus of XMMS quite agreeable. However, I've installed Geany and it takes "ugly" to a whole new level. It doesn't look oldschool, it looks bad.
From my past experience using Linux, I remember Geany is a GTK program made originally for Gnome. I also remember that in Debian some theme package of some sort had to be installed in order for KDE to render GTK programs nicely.
What is the package that I am searching for named, and is it available on SlackBuilds?
Assuming you are on KDE 4, I think you are looking for kde-gtk-config, which will let you set the theme for GTK applications in KDE. It will show up in KDE System Settings -> Application Appearance -> GTK.
It is also possible to set the KDE applications to use the GTK+ style. That is in Application Appearance -> Style.

montagdude, thanks, that was what I was looking for. It apparently affects Firefox as well. Regardless, now Geany actually looks usable. I tried installing the Clearlooks themes but they don't work at all. Admittedly I didn't restart KDE since then.
the clearlooks-classic-themes are GTK2 only and require gtk-engines. Geany seems to be using GTK3. For GTK3 try setting Adwaita theme that comes with Slackware.
This is what I use for XFCE and MATE. Uncompress and put the Minwaita folders in '.themes' which you will have to create. The Minwaita-Shell folder is useless without GNOME. No harm in not copying it over into '.themes'.
