Slackintosh, Imac and X!

I have been trying to get Slackintosh to work on my Blue and White 500mhz G3 Imac, and it all works fine except i cant get x to work.

Now i have got Yellow Dog running on it (In fact im typing this message with it now) and was wondering if it would be possible to copy my X config file then re-install Slack and copy the config file over?

The reason im asking is it takes quite a while to install Yello Dog, so if i coudnt get it working i would be reinstalling tht again, as this Imac is great for basic internet, email and remote administering of my other boxes, without leaving my front room

Thanks in advance

You should be able to do that. I'd just diff the two and see what's going on... X is X so don't worry about not being able to get it running on Slackintosh. It'll run. Your Imac is probably circa 2k, same as my Pismo. This is what my xorg.conf looks like.

Code:
Section "Device"
    Identifier  "Rage Mobility M3"
    Driver	"ati"
    Option	"UseFBDev"
EndSection
Do a dmesg | less and check to see if it's using aty128fb for the initial driver. If it's not and the above doesn't work, then add this to /etc/yaboot.conf
Code:
append="video=aty128fb"
Reboot and try again. Here is my yaboot.conf for refrence:
Code:
# Main multiboot menu: in seconds
delay=10
# Boot prompt: in tenths of seconds
timeout=50

macosx=/dev/hda4
enablecdboot
enableofboot
boot=/dev/hda2
device=/pci@f2000000/mac-io@17/ata-4@1f000/disk@0:
root=/dev/hda5
install=/usr/lib/yaboot/yaboot
magicboot=/usr/lib/yaboot/ofboot

image=/boot/vmlinux
	label=DIY
        partition=5
	read-only
	#append="video=aty128fb"
