Realy Realy Need some basics


Im D/Ling slackware 9.1 right now.. I've been interested in linux for years but have only used it few times.. I need some documentation that will guide me through things from Networking to Decompressing files to.. And something to show me how the whole tree structure works.. I am Very Very New. And i cant seem to find a Manual that uses lamens terms lol if somebody could help me that would be great

I can READ French, I maybe could even
manage to pronounce it half-way decently ...
I just don't understand 99.9% of it ;)
