Proxim (lucent) orinoco silver usb (serial cnxn)?

I normally use a lucent orinoco silver pcmcia card. But my pcmcia slot is broken and I have been using the proxim orinoco silver product that makes a serial connection through the USB port. Works fine on the windows xp side of my dual boot. I am hoping someone can tell me where to write in the network key for linux. I am beginner / intermediate.

I have already ordered the pcmcia part but I am stuck using windows until i fix my ibm a30p pcmcia slot. I miss slackware /xfce. Any help appreciated but i realize this is an obscure q
