my question is::
why slackware runs only 1 6 7 of the 12 not the 2 3 4 5 ??.All the destros i used before used to run them also but slackware is not do we have to set something to ge them??.Plz do help me.
thanks in anticipation.
bye,
pranith.
Well F1-6 are the virtual consoles.
However you can run multiple instances of Xwindow in a multi-user enviroment.
So say Term 1 could startx & it would be placed under F7.
Then Term 3 could run startx -- :1 & it would be found under F8.
Then Term 2 could run something like this startx //home/trey/games/quake2/quake2 -- :2 & the game would be found under F8.
You have to setup you x config to run like that, but I find it rather handy sometimes.
Not sure if that is answering your question.
If not please let me know & I'll try & help you out.
