Patch for Slackware 9.0?

Hello,

I've found the following folder, which seems to be a patch/update for the Slackware 9.0 kernel boot:

/pub/slackware/slackware-9.0/patches/kernels/bare.i

bzImage 1,168 K
config 36 K
System.map.gz 142 K

My questions are:
- how can I create a boot floppy with this files and
- how can I update my hard drive Slackware 9.0 system?

I may be mistaken but I think that's just a basic slack kernel image. If you want a new kernel to run it's best (and quite easy) to compile it yourself. You can make a boot disk from that if you want using the dd command - see the slackware page for details. There's a good guide in the slackware book to compiling a custom kernel (www.slackware.org) or here in this forum.
