Installed Allen VLC vlc-2.2.4-x86_64-1alien.txz and PulseAudio Volume Control not working properly

Now that I have installed vlc-2.2.4-x86_64-1alien.txz
I've noticed that when I used PulseAudio Volume Control. That when I close VLC it does not get removed from PulseAudio Volume Control. see included Photo.

2. VLC sticks (too) it just freezes up

added Info PIDs are not dead when they should be. Closed out VLC via that little x in the title area.

Code:
userx@slacko~:>> ps -aux | grep vlc
userx 9398 0.0 0.0 9640 1872 pts/2 S+ 15:07 0:00 grep --color=auto vlc

pkill vlc and killall vlc don't kill any of them.

Did you try another application? Like xine? How does pulseaudio behave then?

pulseaudio does fine -- I got a get back in Slack and slap VLC around a little more I think. Because it is not behaving properly.
