How to change gtkspell language without changing Slackware language?

Hi.

I would like to have gtkspell working with Portuguese, however, I don't want to change Slackware's language (English currently).

I have googled "gtkspell", "gtkspell change language" and I have read some pages about localization in Slackware, but I haven't reached any conclusion about what exactly defines gtkspell language.

Thanks.

Just launch it like this:
Code:
LANG=pt_BR.utf8 pidgin
EDIT: You'll need to have a Portuguese spelling package installed, of course.

Com os melhores cumprimentos,

You are right. I installed aspell-pt_BR using slackpkg and that solved the problem, now I can choose Portuguese in Pidgin.
