Guest <-> Host copy and paste not working in Slackware-current guest in VMware Player

Fully updated Slackware-current guest, Windows 10 host, VMWare Player 17, open-vm-tools 11.3.5 from Ponce's repo

Really, the title says it all. I cannot do copy-and-paste between host and guest. I know something from VMWare-tools is working because the auto-screen-resize (where it resizes the screen in the guest when I resize the VMWare window) works, but copy-and-paste isn't.

It depends on your Kernel ( I was on 6.1.2 ) but here is an unofficial thread kernel debug vmware workstation 17 #19

If this issue is your issue, you'll see dmesg entries like the ones posted.

If so, there are vmnet patches in the thread but I got my fixes by opening a VMWare Ticket.
