I haven't mirrored GoogleEarthLinux.bin, for both copyright and bandwidth reasons, but it's probably best to get it from google anyway... that way you don't have to trust me.
For those of you unfamiliar with SlackBuilds, just download the three files in the directory above to a new directory on your system, as well as GoogleEarthLinux.bin from google. Give googleearth.SlackBuild execute permission (chmod +x googleearth.SlackBuild), then execute it as root (su -c "./googleearth.SlackBuild")... This will create a happy fun slackware package in your /tmp directory, which you can then install and uninstall with the normal slackware tools (su -c "installpkg /tmp/googleearth-4beta-i686-1nav.tgz").

Hmmm... interesting that. Can you try resolving the hostname with the host command? When I rpd into a windows box at work, I can get to my site fine...

I'll try some more creative things tomorrow ... it's late now.
Apparently the Great Chinese Firewall is blocking that site:
Code:
mingdao@silas:~$ host hydroksyde.gotdns.org
hydroksyde.gotdns.org has address 216.221.188.182
;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached
;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached
mingdao@silas:~$ ping -c4 216.221.188.182
PING 216.221.188.182 (216.221.188.182) 56(84) bytes of data.
--- 216.221.188.182 ping statistics ---
4 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 2999ms
I have a ssh tunnel out of this country, using a Socks proxy
and couldn't reach you just now. Tomorrow I'll get creative...
