Does the Firefox 1.0.3 update on www.linuxpackages.net smoothly update the Firefox 1.0.2 version that's available on Slackware Current? In the comment on the linuxpackage site, Jim, the packager, seems to imply that he's following Slackware's directory locations, but I wasn't sure.
I can verify that the linuxpackages.net package for Firefox 1.0.3 smoothly updates the Firefox 1.0.2 package from Slackware Current. I used the upgradepkg command and it did just fine. So Jim must be following standard Slackware file locations and so forth, as his comment on the linuxpackages.net site seemed to imply.

If you put those plugins in your home dir ~/.mozilla/plugins/ then you don't have to do that next time.
Same for the searchplugins, but then one should remove the global searchplugin directory (in my case /usr/local/firefox/searchplugins), and recreate it as a link to the one in your home dir ~/.mozilla/searchplugins
By the way, I upgraded with the firefox installer from the mozilla website.
