DSL only works for root user

Hello All,

This isn't a question but I thought I would post it anyway. I recently re-installed Slackware 9.1 on my pc. I have a D-Link DSL 300G+ modem which works right out of the box with netconfig set to use DHCP in the installation setup. However, I could only connect to the net as root. I looked here and found that most people were using pppoe or adsl-start to get their dsl working, and the solutions were based around this method which didn't apply to my setup. I managed to work out though from what people had said that the problem was with /etc/resolv.conf. DHCP had written my DNS nameserver correctly, but there was no search entry for my local network. I added "search reclusivemonkey.lan" and hey presto, user accounts can now access the net. Hope this helps anyone in the same situation.
