CSI and the ATO in Australia

This a bit of a long shot. I'm using Slack-12.1

Is there anyone on the list in Australia who has managed to get their digital certificates online from the ATO (taxman) Using Slackware. I have the CSI java ap working but get error messages at ATO download site (where I'm to collect my certificates with P'word and pin) using FF or Konq. Errors are about CSI not installed or out of date.

Theres not much info about this when I google but apparently it has been done with Debian Ubuntu and RH.

Perhaps try asking on the Linux/BSD forum on Whirlpool (http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-threads.cfm?f=39). I have seen Australian tax issues relating to Linux (e-tax, etc.) discussed there in the past. A search for "ATO" turned up this thread which might relate to your problem.

Geoff.

A friend told me he'll try WINE + MS Internet Exploiter and see how he goes - but I never heard back from him. I still have WinDuhs 2k so I just use that pig for dealing with the ATO.
