EXT3-fs: sda4 couldn't mount because of unsupported optional features (240)

When I boot Slackware13.1 it shows this 2 messages but it boots, my fstab says:
/dev/sda3 swap swap defaults 0 0
/dev/sda4 / ext4 defaults 1 1
#/dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom auto noauto,owner,ro 0 0
#/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto noauto,owner 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
tmpfs /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0

My file system is ext4 and the root partition is sda4.
Why it is happening?

Thats just a warning and can be ingored.
If you want to get rid of it you can add rootfstype=ext4 to the append line of your /etc/lilo.conf and execute /sbin/lilo.
Its happening cause the kernel probes for ext2 and ext3 before ext4.

I haven't started a new thread.
I have the same problem.

But the difference is that the system boot process hangs up at the moment of starting Samba.
Neither Ctrl-C, nor 'exit' or 'quit' or 'logout' or Ctrl-Z work. Switching between virtual terminals also doesn't work.

It's great that the system is steel accessable via SSH. It's the only way to control it.

What things do I need to get rid of this problem?
I haven't expected such behavior from my favourite distribution. Or does it mean that my hard drive will die soon?
