My phone is paired with my Slackware 14.1/64 bit system. On the Blueman devices applet, if I click the blue folder, I see a message pop up after a few seconds, "Failed to mount GT-I5510M to /home/cliff/obexfs/84:25
B:AD:C5:0E."
This is an older Samsung android phone. The android version is 2.2.2 and the model is GT-I5510M.
I ran hcidump to try and find out why the failure to mount. Here is the part of the trace I think show the most useful information.
Code:
> HCI Event: Command Status (0x0f) plen 4
Authentication Requested (0x01|0x0011) status 0x00 ncmd 1
> HCI Event: Command Complete (0x0e) plen 10
Link Key Request Reply (0x01|0x000b) ncmd 1
status 0x00 bdaddr 84:25:DB:AD:C5:0E
> HCI Event: Auth Complete (0x06) plen 3
status 0x05 handle 44
Error: Authentication Failure
This leaves me with some questions.
How is authentication done for obexftp? I have not found any information on this. Any idea where I can find out what status 05 handle 44 means? ( probably just 'Authentication Failure' however, doc to confirm would be nice.
I know there is a file ~/.config/blueman/blueman.cfg. I don't know how its generated, or modified.
My main desktop system has three drives. I have the 14.1/64 bit system on sdb, and 14.1/32 bit system on sda. I have the phone paired with both versions of Slack. I can click the blue folder on the 32 bit system, it mounts the ~/obexfs/84:25
B:AD:C5:0E without problems. All the same hardware is used, so I'm as sure as I can be this is not hardware related.
I also tried copying the ~/.config/blueman/blueman.cfg file from the 32 bit system to the 64 bit system. The phone still pairs, however, the authentication error persists.
I have read a lot of online searches, have not found a solution.
BTW, this is not a high priority problem. I have Dropbox on the phone, and it copies photos to my system without problems. I also have Airdriod working.
My interest here is more of a learning experience.
Thoughts on how to proceed?
One other question. The blueman applet calls a script, /usr/libexec/blueman-open. Lines 6 and 7;
Code:
6 # Set to 0 if you want more debugging messages
7 DEBUG=0
I set DEBUG to 0. Where do I find the 'more debugging messages'? There doesn't seem to be a log file that I can find.
