Debian bookworm. Kmail not working

{I had a stroke in 2011, and am brain-damaged}

A few years {about 8 years ago] I stopped using Kmail in favor of Thunderbird. I deleted the entry in my menu, and a few weeks ago I decided to use Kmail again.

BUT it doesn't work. I get the following error:

BEGIN:

The Akonadi personal information management service is not operational.

END:

Some other applications that depend on Akonadi also give me the same error.

How can I fix this, other than a reinstall?
Is it even worth it for me to use Kmail in the first place?

Have yourself a fabulous day!

You are not alone. A web search for "The Akonadi personal information management service is not operational" turns up many links reporting this error.

Unfortunately, none of the links I clicked on seem to provide a solutions, but I did not click on them all.

If it were me, I'd go back to using Thunderbird and then pursue the Kmail issue as sort of a side project.

Just my two cents.

Sooo... it is not only my system.
Thank your THAT information.
I just thought I would try kmail again.... No worries, the fact that others have the same {bad-word} problem means that I guess it was nothing I did, the KDE itself is flawed.

I guess I will call the "SOLVED", for book keeping purposes.

Have yourself a fantastic day!
