sabayon disks wont boot

Hi Bought a live dvd from linux shop, it downloaded the files, got to the start menu but when i hit start sabayon just got a black screen.

Emailed Linux shop who kindly sent me another disk. same thing happened, Dowmloaded my own ISO but just black screen again.

Desktop PC 2.6 GHz dual core. 4GB ram, Nvidia quadro NVS 290 dual graphics sata 320 HDD running Win 7, plus Win 8.1 beta and Mint on virtual machines.

128GB SSD dual booting win 7 & Ubuntu 13.04 64 bit I was trying to run the live dvd on this ssd drive.

No idea what the problem is so can anyone help please thanks

Usually black screens are caused if the graphics driver has problems to determine the correct resolution and refresh rate of your display. You can try to get it working with setting those values manually, for example with adding the option
Code:
video=1024x768@60
(replace those values with correct values for your display, the ones in the example should work for any somewhat modern display) to the kernel command line in the bootloader.
