Sabayob 9 Scilab bug

Hello,

I am a new Sabayon user, and just installed Sabayon 9, first KDE and then GNOME.

I'm just having one problem. I really need Scilab on my work! I've installed it just fine using equo, but then Scilab doesn't appear on my Menu and I cannot start it via terminal. It seems that Scilab crashes when iniciates...

I do have another question: is it possible to switch to an older version of GNOME in Sabayon?? I'm used to work with GNOME, but I don't like the new one...

Thanks in advance!!

This post has not been answered for quite some time and so let me suggest a workaround. Instead of installing scilab - donload the binary version and then untar it and then just type ./scilab and it should work.
Hope this helps.

Hello honeybadger...thnks for the tip!! It works this way!! Perfectly!!

I justa have a doubt about that...when I install Octave, it appears on my menu and it starts normally...but Scilab doesn't...do anyone know the reason?

Thanks again for the help!
