Sorry about taking so long to get back to you, I don't have the internet anymore, but I have sabayon 4.1 64 bit, and I was wondering if it's possible to install a program or application from an iso or existing cd. Kind of like synaptic in debian. This is due to the fact that I no longer have the internet, otherwise I would download them. But any help is greatly apreciated, thanks.
we don't actually ship a package DVD of the sort you are asking for - there are still several ways to lift software off of the install DVDs, but the easiest way is to just choose "rescue upgrade" off of the DVD's installer - this should force all the DVD software to install on an existing Sabayon install. If you really want only a few packages and don't have dependency issues, then the fastest way to do this is probably by using quickpkg. A quick overview (with gcc as an example) can be found here.
