RHEL 4.0 AS mii-tool - SIOCGMIIPHY on eth1 failed: Resource temporarily unavailable

Hey All:

I've got a multi NIC'd server and my eth1 was working properly for some time, except it seems to have gone down. mii-tool gives me the error:

SIOCGMIIPHY on 'eth1' failed: Resource temporarily unavailable

I have seen this on my other server were I have just restarted the machine but that isn't an option. The cables are properly connected with lights.

Any ideas?

I've tried ifdown eth1 and ifup eth1. Same problem.

What command should I use for that?
