overview of /etc/sysconfig
My original installation of redhat with one nic connected to cable-modem can connect to internet ..
Now I've moved that nic to other pci slot, pick out the soundcard and put in another nic to that pci slot of the soundcard. During the booting, kudzu recognized it, asked me whether to remove the software for that soundcard, I answered ok .. will also be removed ..
Kudzu also asked something regarding the nic.., it took awhile, then continued with being not able to activate the eth0 .. (am not sure whether it is caused by the often failed connection to ISP), but I was not able to activate it, also not by using the tool on the control center.
Wut I did:
Created an file in /etc/sysconfig/networking/devices/ifcfg-eth1
copy it to /etc/sysconfig/networking/profiles/default/
make a symbolic link from /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth1 to ../networking/devices/ifcfg-eth1
Content of ifcfg-eth1 (dedicated for internet sharing to wme-box):

eth1 worked, but eth0 not, can not be activated, cable modem is connected to eth0. Wut is wrong, is it problem from the ISP ?
Can any one give an overview of the files in /etc/sysconfig
or point me to the related reading ?
Where is the definitive place to define the HOSTNAME ? when I call hostname it always answered with dhcpc-xxxx ..
My isp does'nt change the HOSTNAME I defined in slackware or windows platform ..
