Gunzip Problem


Hi all,
I'm totally new to Linux. I have a gz file. when I tried to unzip it using gunzip its throwing me an error "unexpected end of file". anybody can help me in this regard. I'm in an urgent need to unzip the file. Please help me.

if the filename is file.tar.gz
then type :

Code:
tar -xvzf file.tar.gz
if the filename is file.gz
then type :

Code:
gunzip file.gz

the .gz files seems corrupted. you may want to grab/download it again.
