Question Create Local CentOS Repository

I have CentOS (6.3) installed on standalone PC. This will be never connected to the internet. Which is OK cos no need to check for security issues, but I would like to get a snapshot of CentOS repository (beyond what is on DVD).
I am wondering if it is possible to download the the contents of the online repository (as a one time snapshot) and set up my own repository.
Questions:
Is it possible?
Is it practical?
Where do I source it from?
I assume there will be quite a bit of storage needed (100Gb?)

Thanks for quick reply Chris.
Only problem I have with what I have read is that I only have internet access from a windows pc (my intention being to copy them to Linux machine via a portable hard drive).
Is there a way of copying to windows pc using torrent or something?

Download the rpm from any computer and transfers into any directory of your RHEL system. Then issue this command

createrepo <directory path>

After this give the baseurl in repo file as baseurl=file://<directory path>
