Does alsa see the webcam mike? Is the camera internal (Where you would expect it to be wired in) or external, where you probably have a 3.5mm jack to plug into the soundcard? Does recording from the soundcard work?

How do I tell it also sees the webcam mike ?
Camera is external and uses a USB port.
Recording using another mic does not work either ?
I am using a pink port for the mic and there is also one in the back.
They'll have some driver for windows passing USB sound over but you will have to search for one. If it's not available, I suggest you replace the webcam, or buy a clip on mike. If you're handy with a soldering iron a hack might be on the cards. You want a 3.5mm mono jack wired across the mike.
You can see loaded modules with lsmod command. Note: it shows only drivers that are configured as modules in kernel setup, it does not show drivers that are built into kernel.
