USB boot ng

Puppy 3.0 -or- 3.01

There is no info for flash drive booting as promised at this puppy link.

Where it says:
Quote:
...that boots off a CD...and in the... "Setup" menu you will find an entry called "Puppy Universal Installer". Select that, and follow the simple instructions.
There is NO "Universal Installer" in 'Setup'

What do I do?

What are you trying to do with the universal installer? It's only mentioned with regard to updating an installation, not booting from a flash drive.

hello bob, Kinda strange I just booted my Puppy 3.0.1 cd.
I right clicked on the desktop. The menu came up. Moved the mouse over Setup.
The Universal installer option is the 3rd one from the bottom. after selecting it, the USB install is the 1st option in that list.

At this point don't have a clue why its not one of your setup options.

You are looking at the wrong setup, go down to the Menu at the bottom left side and use that setup, it is included with a long list of items. When you do an install it gives you the option of a flash drive and several more.

Solved: USB boot

Thank you.

I was clicking on the setup icon on the desktop. There was no puppy universal Installer there but there was in Menu-->setup and desktop-->Right Click-->setup.

Thanks,

Bob
