USB 3 port does not see pen drives

I have two usb 3.0 ports that are provided by a card.

But they do not see any pen drive that is inserted.

My printers use the ports fine.

Is that normal ?

Normally they would be backwards compatible, check the details for your card, (also it's possible that may be your distro or mobo doesn't support usb3).

It worked after a reboot.

I just installed Mint.

Looking for it's programming support that is built in.
