Trying to make a thunar custom action that zips files.

This is not working.

Anyone know why ?

Code:
zip -u %f

Thanks.

I ended with this and it works.

Quote:
zip -u -j %n.zip %F
Thunar has no -r switch.

But the command does work and bypasses trash bin.
Handy, because Ubuntu sends all deleted files to trash bin.

rm shows -r as -r, -R, --recursive remove directories and their contents recursively. ??

Command:

rm -r

I tried this...
Code:
zip -u %n.zip %F
from here (see post #2) and it works, BUT, it creates an archive of multiple selected files using the filename of the first selected file.

Hope that helps. Kinda cool actually, I like it.

For the icon, I selected 'All Icons', then typed zip in the search.

I think it instructs zip to not include directories in zipping up files.
