ReiserFS hdb1: checking transaction log (hdb1)

Above is the error message when booting Puppy Linux 4. Installed it on a 500MB primary partition (hda3) formatted as ext2. Install seemed fine, re-booted and put the correct entry in the menu.lst file of my primary OS and rebooted to Puppy and this is the message it stops at. The partition referred to (hdb1) is Suse Linux 9.2 which I've had on the machine for years. No problem booting it or using it.

This isn't really a problem as I don't intend to use Puppy as my primary OS but I'm curious about the cause of this particular error. I am able to mount Puppy from other OS's on the maching and view/navigate through the filesystem, just can't boot into it.
