No sound after recording

I used mhWaveEdit to record, but there is no sound when I play it back.

My speakers and microphone work.

Puppy has a hardware checker so you can supply more info into this thread.
Retroval or alsamixer is the volume control mixer and settings must be checked.

Don't know if it is frugal install or full install of 5.6 Slack0.

Help you help yourself by being more descriptive than just a 2 line sentence.

That goes both ways.

Hardware checker tells me little. An actual name would help.

Full install.

In Retroval, master, pcm, mic, beep, internal mic, capture, digital and mic boost boxes are checked.

Volume meter did not move and recording was a flat line.

Solved

I have it working but there is a little feedback even when not recording.

Little more work.

I messed around with alsamixer and changed a lot of settings.

I don't recall the order as it was many iterations.

Feedback solved by lowering master volume level.

I was premature in my last post.

With master turned down to eliminate speaker feedback, I can no longer hear well enuf for other applications and I have to turn it up.

I turned master volume to max, but volume is much lower than when I started.

I just would like things back to where they were.

I have disk image backups, but the newest is 2 days ago.

Try turning down PCM and turning Master Volume up.

Don't use much or any Mic Boost either.

It takes a bit of fiddling to hit the sweet spot.

Even after hitting the F5 key and adjusting all settings?

Yes, but not a problem as I can record with OpenSuse.
