@frankbell:-
Frank, I would guess the OP is referring to the way in which the re-vamped Woof-CE build-system (which is what is used to build modern Puppies) takes the ISO file of a mainstream distro, will use the binary files from the OS itself to 'construct' a 'Puppy' based on that distro, and will also connect to that distro's repos and use them to 'build-in' a selection of lightweight apps
from those repos.
The whole kit & caboodle is then re-mastered as a brand-new Puppy. Having entered the required parameters (source, URLs, etc.), the build-system then carries out & completes this process 100% automatically, presenting you, at the end, with an ISO file, ready to 'burn' to CD/DVD/USB.
This is the page to which quickbreakfast is referring.

To the best of my knowledge, no-one has ever attempted this with Mageia. Ubuntu is used as one popular base, because of the sheer availability of software.....and Slackware as the other popular base, due to its extreme stability. (This is why I have always preferred the 'Slacko' Puppies for a 'daily driver'; they just 'work', and as mentioned, are very, very stable.)
You use Slackware yourself, so I believe you can in all likelihood relate to what I'm saying.....
Mike.
