Smile Kennel

Kennel was the early code name for the 5.x series Puppy

5.x based on Barry Kaulers Woof build system is now also known as WOOF.
Alpha 9 of Woof will be released shortly

Compiled programs from major Linux distros are provided with a Puppy 'run from ram' lean exterior
Support for Gnome Vala and Genie language

Easier than unleashed, the Woof uild system allows the ease of remastering that led to more provided puplets (Puppy personalised 'forks') that users love

Barry Kauler is very focussed on keeping the build below 100MB and intends to release the eventual ISO in smaller segments of 20MB downloads for modem users.

The 5.x name Woof was changed from Kennel after developers started using the build name as the code name. So 5.x is now known as Woof.

Two new Woof projects include Puppy Browser (an early version is used as the HTML viewer) written in Genie and a possible include or easy download of a Puppy database.

These new projects will be released under an open source license.

Puppy 4.2.1 RC3/Final will be announced shortly and is recommended for use whilst Puppy 5.x is developed
